Senate and Congressional Western Caucuses Hearing Announcement
02/23/12“Washington Barriers to Prosperity and Property Rights in the West”
WASHINGTON, DC—Tuesday, February 28, 2012, SenateWestern Caucus Chairman John Barrasso (R-WY), Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Steve Pearce (R-NM), and Members of the Senate and Congressional Western Caucuses will hold a bicameral hearing entitled “Washington Barriers to Prosperity and Property Rights in the West.”
Members and witnesses, including Idaho Governor Butch Otter, will examine the Obama Administration’s environmental and natural resource policies and their negative impact on jobs,economic growth and private property rights in Western states and communities. These controversial policy initiatives have raised the concerns and opposition of many western leaders, including governors, county commissioners, small business owners, and private land owners.
The hearing will shed light on real world examples, the extent of the problems, and help facilitate a discussion on what needs to be done to fix them.
